What retail design and project management experience do you have?

- We have designed a state bank retail portfolio and its national roll-outs, including 40 + retail stores, another big 4 bank retail NSW roll-outs with more than 40+ shops, 500 stores upgrade for this supermarket giant, as well as big department store reconfiguration and upgrade, massage and day spa in Kingston, Nail shops in Kingston and Tweed Heads, private gallery in ACT, cafes in local area ... to name a few.  

Do I need any approval or consent to start construction?

- This is depending on your scope of work. If it is only for painting and change of furnishings, then all you need is owner's consent, which could be valid even if it is a written email. Some organisations have higher requirement in paperwork and documentation, then in this case, a signed letter is sufficient from owner. 

If the scope if more than the above mentioned, then apart from owner's consent, you will need your authority's approval. The most common way is to engage a PCA to issue CDC. 

If there is any street front work, or your building is an heritage listing item, then a local council DA is required.

I just got a tenancy, where do I start?

- You could just give us a call for a free consultation, we will walk you through the full project process and all steps we will need to take for interior design and project delivery of your dream store, then we could do site visit and measurement as well as a face-to-face consultation to summarize a client brief  highlighting what you would like to achieve. Then we could start the design process by doing some space planning for you. Once the concept is approved, then we will start on the detail design, including finishes, elevations, joinery details, ...etc.We will be your trusted advisers and guide you through the process every step of the way. 

What do you mean by space planning in retail and hospitality space?

- It's a term in interior design that we will draw a sketch either hand-drawn or from computer on a empty floor plan to show you the position and rough shapes of various areas and/or joinery items so that our client would under which area on the plan is for what functionality, here we also call it space mix. For example, in retail shops, we will divide the space to Front of House which is your traditional trading floor, and Back of House which is your Admin and Kitchen space. In front of house, depending on the nature of your store, we then include different areas, say in a cafe, we will include customer seating areas (different seating arrangements), coffee counter for equipment, transaction counter, feature walls... to name a few.

What do you mean by full detail design documentation?

- our full detail design documentation include drawings like: floor plan, partition plan, internal elevations, finishes plan, flooring plan, reflected ceiling plan, joinery design details, and all necessary information for the purpose of tendering and full construction. The set of documentation is more than just certifier would require, it documents the design in full details so that the builder or contractor would be able to translate the design on site directly without any problem. We will also include a list of finishes details as well as list of furniture and fixtures. 

How long would it take to get a quote from 0813 Studio?
